Spring repair and replacement
Torsion and extension springs, replaced in pairs so the second one does not fail a month behind the first.
Garage door repair and installation
Springs, openers, cables and doors that have come off their track. Tell us what the door is doing and most of it can be narrowed down before anyone drives out.
Start here
Nearly every call comes down to one of five faults. Find the one that sounds like yours and you will know roughly what you are dealing with before you pick up the phone.
The spring carries the weight of the door, not the opener. Once it snaps the opener cannot lift it and forcing it strips the gear.
The motor sounds normal because it is turning nothing. Usually a plastic gear inside the head, sometimes just the emergency release pulled.
The two photo eyes near the floor have to see each other. A knocked bracket or a cobweb is enough to send it back up.
Stop using it. Every cycle from here bends panels and can pull the second cable too.
The cheapest fault on this list and the one most likely to become an expensive one if it is left.
What we handle
Residential doors across Fresno and Clovis, plus roll up and sectional doors on commercial units.
Torsion and extension springs, replaced in pairs so the second one does not fail a month behind the first.
Motor, drive gear, logic board, sensors, remotes and keypads. The fault is usually one part rather than a new opener.
Rollers back in the rail, hinges and brackets checked end to end, the door re-balanced before it is handed back.
Frayed cables, flat rollers and worn bearing plates. The parts that make a door loud before they make it dangerous.
Measured, ordered and fitted, with the old door removed. Insulated panels are worth the difference in Valley heat.
Warehouse, shop and yard doors, including roll up curtains and the openers that drive them.
Door styles
Every one of these comes insulated, which matters more here than almost anywhere. An uninsulated door turns a garage into an oven from June to September.
The default on most Valley tract homes. Cheapest to replace like for like.
Woodgrain finish with strap hardware. Steel underneath, so it holds up in the sun.
Flat panels, no relief. Reads well on newer stucco and painted brick.
Aluminium frame with frosted or clear glass. Common on shops and studios.
How a job runs
A garage door is one of the few repairs where the diagnosis changes the price by hundreds. Getting it right first is most of the job.
Half the faults on this page can be narrowed down over the phone before anyone drives out.
A door that will not open has about five likely causes and they are not priced the same.
Parts and labour quoted up front, including the option of repairing rather than replacing.
A door left out of balance eats the next set of springs and the opener behind them.

If the door is stuck open and the house is not secure, call instead. That is faster than any form.
Questions
Look at the spring above the door. If there is a clean gap in the coil it has snapped, and that is the whole problem. The opener is not built to lift the door on its own, so nothing else will work until the spring is replaced. Do not keep pressing the button, because that is what strips the opener gear.
Springs, cables, rollers and openers are all wear parts and replacing them is normally the cheaper call. Replacement makes sense when panels are bent or rusted through, when the door is single skin and the garage is unbearable in summer, or when the sections no longer meet the floor evenly.
Springs are rated in cycles, not years. A standard spring is around 10,000 cycles, which is roughly seven years at four openings a day and closer to three or four years for a busy household using the garage as the main door. Higher cycle springs cost a little more and last considerably longer.
